In the second game of a doubleheader, Cuban righthander Luis Aloma took the mound as the White Sox starter vs. the Philadelphia A's on June 17, 1951. Aloma threw a 5-hit shutout in the only start of his big league career (he made 115 relief appearances for Chicago).
