On Saturday, May 6, 1950, 26-year-old rookie righthander John Perkovich was the third and final pitcher used by the White Sox in an 11-1 drubbing by the Red Sox at Fenway Park. In five innings of work, Perkovich allowed four runs on seven hits (including three homers) and a walk. It was to be his only major league appearance. Perkovich is seen here in spring training of 1951 wearing a 1950 home uniform.
