Following the 1960 season, the new Washington Senators selected Bobby Shantz from the Yankees as their second pick in the first-ever expansion draft. Righthander Bennie Daniels was one of three players obtained from Pittsburgh in exchange for Shantz two days later. Daniels compiled a won-lost record of 37-60 during his five seasons in D.C.
