On Thursday, August 8, 1985, in the top of the ninth inning of the first game of a twin bill vs. Detroit at Royals Stadium, K.C. manager Dick Howser sent 27-year-old rookie Robert Hilmer Hegman into the game to play third base in place of George Brett. Kansas City won the game going away, 10-3 and Hegman had made his only major league appearance. This photo comes with a Commercial Appeal Certificate of Authenticity.
